Here’s a blog I wrote last week while I was on holiday, but I didn’t have chance to post it, it’s called ‘A Postcard from Paradise’…

Portals Nous, Majorca

Portals Nous, Majorca

Dear Reader

Greetings from the picturesque Portals Nous, on the South coast of Majorca, where the sun is shining and my usually pale skin is turning a light golden brown.

As I write this, I’m listening to the waves washing rhythmically on the beach below me, hypnotising me into a deep state of relaxation and it reminds me of my childhood in Barry when I didn’t have a care in the world (although the view across the bright blue sea to the island in front of me can’t really be compared to what I used to see when I looking across to Flat Holm!).

My friends lay next to me on loungers, reading books and drinking ice cold Coca Cola. Later we might jump in the pool to cool off from the heat, or walk along the sandy beach, but at the moment all I want to do is sit here and take in my surroundings.

Next week I’ll be back at work and all too quickly this will seem like a distant memory, so for now I want to enjoy the perfect picture postcard in front of me.

Wish you were here.
