As a child I loved watching Blue Peter, I think it was the mixture of animals, cooking and adventure which made the show so appealing. However, one particular feature that has stayed with me all these years was all about leap years. At a young age I couldn’t get my head around the fact that people born on 29th February only had an official birthday every four years! The interviewees on the programme explained that they’d either celebrate on 28th February or 1st March if it was a non leap year, but to me it just didn’t seem the same.

Fast forward a few years to February 2016 and not only will those Blue Peter leap year guests be preparing to celebrate substantially bigger birthdays, and I too am celebrating because I’ve launched my brand new company.

Memorable Creative Journalism, or MCJ, is a production company specialising in documentary films. It’s a brand new venture for me, but one I’m immensely proud of. Joining me on the core team are Presenter and Singing Sensation Shan Cothi, and Television Expert Bryn Roberts. Between us we’ll be working with some of the top freelancers with the aim of producing compelling content for viewers.

Our website is currently in the development stages, but MCJ is already getting noticed online and we’ve already had our first television commission which will be broadcast later this year. So make sure you check us out on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Vimeo.
