ITV WALES NEWS 2025 -Present

Mariclare is a freelance On-Screen Journalist, reporting and presenting for ITV Wales News. She has covered a range of stories, on topics including the environment and rural affairs. She is skilled at producing pre-recorded packages, either working with craft camera operators and edit crews, or self shooting and self editing. She is also confident at performing live. 

Memorable Creative Journalism: 2018 -Present

Mariclare has produced and presented several documentary films through her own production company, Memorable Creative Journalism, which are broadcast on her YouTube channel, MariclareCJ. She has developed the stories herself before self-shooting and editing material. Her latest documentary, Pierre’s Tale, won Best Activist Message at the International Animal & Environmental Film Festival and was selected for the Nature Without Borders International Film Festival, and the S.O.F.A. Wildlife Film Festival.

radio 4: 2017 -Present

Mariclare is a regular Presenter of On Your Farm, and a Presenter & Reporter for Farming Today, sourcing, recording and editing her own material. She has also worked as an On-Air Reporter for several other Radio 4 programmes, including its flagship current affairs series, PM.

Radio Wales: 2016 -Present

Mariclare has just been commissioned to produce and present a documentary about eagles, which will be broadcast later this year. She has also been a regular voice on Country Focus, presenting programmes and reporting on stories that impact people across Wales, using her contacts to research, record and edit all of her own material. Mariclare has also been a Live Studio Guest on a range of Radio Wales programmes, including Sunday Morning with Eve Myles, and Colin Jackson & Suzanne Packer’s weekend show.

BBC ONE: 2013 -2025

One Man and his Island was a BBC Network documentary developed by Mariclare, who came up with concept for the programme before working on it as Associate Producer. In addition, she has developed story ideas for The One Show. Mariclare is also a freelance VT Presenter for Wales Live, pitching ideas on a range of topics. Previously she was a freelance Producer and Onscreen Reporter for The Wales Report, developing ideas, carrying out interviews and writing scripts for her own packages and for her colleagues

Nation Radio: 2016

Mariclare was a presenter on Nation Radio’s flagship breakfast show, The Big Welsh Wake Up, alongside Mark Powell and Niall Foster

Made In Cardiff TV: 2014 – 2015

As well as presenting the channels launch show, Mariclare also presented and produced a nightly entertainment series called ‘Whats OccurrinCardiff?’. Mariclare was instrumental in coming up with locations and interviews for the series, as well as sourcing guests, to show the full diversity of Walescapital city. She also managed a team of researchers, reporters, camera operators and editors who worked on the programme. In addition, Mariclare also came up the concept for Animal Sanctuary, a factual entertainment series she produced and co-presented, which was shown on every local station across the Made TV Network. 

Global Radio 2013 – 2017

Mariclare was a Freelance News Presenter and Reporter for stations across the Global Network, including LBC, Heart FM and Capital Radio. Mariclare sourced stories, carried out interviews, wrote scripts and presented bulletins.

ITV WALES: 2002 – 2012

For a decade Mariclare was a trusted and respected member of the ITV Wales News team. As Health Correspondent she won accolades for 3 years running at the BMJ Journalism Awards for her original reports, which included an investigation into illegal tanning injections, and she often appeared on the ITV Network News discussing the situation within the Health Service in Wales. Previously Mariclare was ITV’s West Wales Correspondent, with responsibility for a team of Freelance Camera Operators and a Reporter.

Commercial Radio: 2000 – 2002

After completing a traineeship at Red Dragon FM, Mariclare worked as a freelance News Reporter and Traffic & Travel Presenter on Red Dragon and its sister station Capital Gold. During this period she also freelanced as a news presenter for a range of other commercial radio stations, including Bridge FM, The Wave and Valleys Radio.
