All this week Farming Today is looking at livestock markets and their role in the agricultural community. One of the biggest impacts in recent years has been the effect of Foot and Mouth – many livestock markets that were forced to close during the 2001 crisis never reopened, while those that did were faced with increased bureaucracy. However, I’ve been to Monmouthshire where those involved with the livestock market have used those challenges to their advantage.
